Foreign Language

Spanish I

Spanish is a year-long course that focuses on speaking, reading, and writing Spanish through games, songs, and activities. Communicating in a foreign language provides students with a broader cultural understanding of New York and our world.

Spanish II

The students continue to develop their proficiency in the four basic elements of language instruction; listening, speaking, reading, and writing. They expand their vocabulary, improve their pronunciation, and learn more complex grammatical structures in order to communicate in a variety of real-life situations. The Spanish Regents is offered.

American Sign Language I

This course is an introduction to American Sign Language (ASL). Students learn basic grammar, vocabulary, fingerspelling, numbers, and cultural information related to the Deaf Community.
