Mrs. Jenn Winkler

Mrs. Jennifer Winkler is an English teacher, writer, and drama director, who also happens to be a proud Shulamith graduate. "That if you become a teacher, by your pupils you'll be taught," was a lyric Mrs. Winkler learned when she starred in Shulamith's production of The King and I, and it actualized through her many wonderful years teaching 6-12 ELA. Being in the classroom, inspiring a love of literature and language, is bested only by those magical moments where students make real world connections and share "professorial" wisdom. Mrs. Winkler was a columnist for Playbill Magazine (1993-2017) and recently founded SHTARKcontrast, a Jewish, non-profit, community theatre on Long Island, where she is the Artistic Director. Her enthusiasm for all things bookish led to her current hobby as an ARC reader for major publishing houses.
